Contact Bill Hero support at hello@billhero.com.au to update your email address
Bill Hero system uses your personal email address to recognise incoming bills uploaded to uploads@billhero.com.au, and to auto-generate your Bill Hero email forwarding address.
Your email forwarding address is automatically generated, based on your personal email address.
For example, if your personal address is jane.doe@gmail.com, then Bill Hero will auto-create the address jane.doe@billhero.com.au to be used for email forwarding.
If you then change your personal address to something different - eg jdoe@outlook.com - then there's some potential complexity around retaining the old email forwarding address jane.doe@billhero.com.au and routing messages to the new personal address.
Bill Hero system can support multiple forwarding addresses for each subscriber.
Our usual approach is to set up a new forwarding address to match the new personal address - eg jdoe@billhero.com.au - while continuing to support the old forwarding address jane.doe@billhero.com.au.
This means that any retailers already using jane.doe@billhero.com.au can continue to do so, and there's no need to update any energy accounts.
When you eventually switch to a new retailer, its usually best to then use the Bill Hero address that matches your personal address, as this is easy to remember.
Bill Hero does not yet support self-service update of personal email address, because of the potential complexity in setting up and managing email forwarding addresses.
If you need to update your personal email address, please contact Bill Hero support at hello@billhero.com.au.
Note: If you have a common first part to your email address, it's possible that a different Bill Hero subscriber might already be using it for their own email forwarding address, which means we cannot make it available for you.
In this situation we usually create a new forwarding address for you using the form firstname.lastname@billhero.com.au.
For example if John Peterson uses the email address john@personaldomain.com.au, then its possible that some other Bill Hero user might also be using a john@differentdomain.com.au address, and so might already be using john@billhero.com.au as their Bill Hero forwarding address.
Bill Hero forwarding addresses must always be unique, so in this situation we'd set up John Peterson with the address john.peterson@billhero.co.au.
