There's still some situations where the bill upload reminder might fire, even if you're using email forwarding to receive your bills
Bill Hero's bill upload reminder emails are automatically generated and sent when the system thinks an expected bill has not yet arrived.
Bill Hero calculates the anticipated next bill date for each subscription account based on the issue date and billing period in the current bill.
If the anticipated bill has not been received and processed by Bill Hero system within a week of the calculated due date, then an email reminder will be sent.
By far the most common reason for an expected bill not arriving in Bill Hero system is if you have not yet set up automated email forwarding with your retailer.
However, there are some scenarios where a reminder might be sent even if you've already set up automated email forwarding:
- Your previous bill had an artificially short billing cycle, so the reminder was triggered early
- Your retailer issued your bill later than usual, so the reminder was triggered before the bill arrived
- There has been a delay in processing your bill in Bill Hero system - Bill Hero does not reset the trigger date until bill processing is complete
- You've recently set up a new retailer account, and have not yet received the first bill, so the new billing cycle is not yet visible to the system
In most cases, if you've received a reminder even though you have email forwarding set up, you just need to wait for the next bill to recalibrate the expected bill cycle.
After having sent a reminder, Bill Hero will wait for one month before sending another reminder.
If the new bill arrives during this waiting period, then the trigger date for the reminder will be reset based on the calculated next-bill date.
